Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation is more than recovery - it can help change your life!
A heart attack or heart surgery does not mean the end of an active life. You can recover by taking advantage of cardiac rehabilitation through UNC Health Care at Chatham Hospital. You’ll benefit from supervised and telemetry-monitored exercise, health education, peer support and counseling that provide the tools you need to enjoy a full, productive life.
What to Expect From Rehabilitation
Join fellow patients for hour-long rehabilitation sessions three times a week for three months. Medical professionals will help you develop an exercise regimen, set fitness goals and monitor your vital signs to protect your health.
Your personalized cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help you:
- Reduce the risk of future heart problems
- Increase strength, energy and overall wellness
- Decrease stress
- Improve your sense of control over your well-being
- Learn how to achieve a healthy lifestyle
Certification Means Quality Care
The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AAVCPR) certifies Chatham Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program. That means you can trust us to provide qualified staff, tend to both your physical and psycho-social well-being, and follow strict guidelines to ensure your safety.
Starting in 2018, AAVCPR moved to an outcomes-based process with performance measurements that represent more meaningful outcomes. This makes our program a leader in the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation field because we offer the most advanced practices and have a proven track record of high quality patient care.
Cardiac rehabilitation is located at Chatham Medical Park behind Chatham Hospital.
