Chatham Introduces Restaurant Delivery

Chatham Hospital has launched a new meal program for its patients-called  Restaurant Delivery. The concept is very similar to room service offered at most hotels.

Patients select what they want to eat from a varied menu containing over 40 entrees and call the food services department to place their order. Their food is prepared to order and arrives at their room fresh and hot within 45 minutes.

Black Hat Chef and Food Services Director, Kenny McLemore, explains, “Our patients love the variety and convenience. We have noticed that the patients eat better because they can order what they want.” Some of the most popular items include NY Style Cheese Pizza, grilled chicken and shrimp and grits.

Chatham Hospital adapted the concept from UNC Hospitals and its Director of Nutritional Services, Angelo Mojica, who created the program there. With this program, Chatham Hospital boasts the largest menue in the country for critical access hospitals.
